Steamboat’s Labor Day Weekend will start off Friday with
- Steamboat’s annual Come Sale Away Sidewalk Sale. From 9am- 6pm Friday- Monday find the best shopping deals in Steamboat. If you are here in Steamboat for a challenge then you will be riding the Stage Race that makes riders endure 4 days of challenging rides around Steamboat.
- And start Friday night off right with the Steamboat’s First Friday Art Walk. Stroll through town stopping into traditional galleries and other non-traditional venues to see the wide varieties and mediums of art. See the Full list of galleries.
- Begin with the Wild West Air Fest which features vintage and war-bird static aircraft display, classic cars, radio controlled airplane shows, Wings Over the Rockies KidSpace and more. This is a unique event because you can actually buy flights on some of these vintage planes like the B-25 Bomber or the Douglas C-47. The Wild West Air Show will run both Saturday and Sunday keeping plane enthusiasts enthralled. See a full Schedule of the Air Fest
- Saturday morning from 9am-2pm stroll the Farmer’s Market downtown on 6th street to find artisan breads, meats and cheeses, beautiful handcrafted furniture, jewelry, woven goods, fresh organic produce and delicious food!
- For all the dog lovers, head to the Steamboat Stockdog Challenge at Stanko Ranch in Steamboat. This event showcases some of the top border collies in the country. This is a sheepdog field trial where handlers, using only their voice and whistles, direct their dogs to guide sheep through obstacles in a field. Join us at the Stanko Ranch on Saturday, Sunday & Monday, September 4th-6th. You'll be amazed when you see the incredible teamwork between handlers and their dogs, even when they are hundreds of yards apart!
- Sunday will switch gears to the annual Downtown Hoedown and Chuckwagon Chili Challenge. Take a break from shopping the sale or watching the air fest and get some incredible chili tasting.
- And that evening at 5pm head to the Romick Arena to see the Rocky Mountain PBR (no not beer, Professional Bull Riders) try to hold on for 8 seconds to some of the biggest and strongest bulls around! Doors open at 3pm and get there early for the best seats!
- Monday will wrap up the amazing long weekend with some more shopping or more sheep dog watching or hang out and get amazing breakfast downtown or get in a hike or mountain bike ride!
