Frontier Airlines Will Have Flights to Steamboat Winter 2010-2011

Frontier Airlines will start flights to Steamboat into the Yampa Valley Airport this coming winter 2010-2011. The Steamboat Ski & Resort Co. announced that the airline will be hosting one daily flight from DIA (Denver International Airport) to Steamboat starting Dec. 16, 2010- April 10, 2011. All flights will go on sale this Sunday. This will make getting to Steamboat for your winter ski vacation even easier and ResortQuest Steamboat is making it even cheaper- see our winter lodging deals.

Frontier would fly a 99-passenger Embraer 190 aircraft in and out of YVRA. The announcement comes as Ski Corp. faces its second consecutive winter season with declining airline seat capacity. Andy Wirth, Ski Co. Senior VP, said Thursday that the total seat capacity for 2010-11 is between 123,000 and 128,000 seats, down from about 134,000 seats this past winter. YVRA’s total seat capacity was about 158,000 in the winter of 2008-09.

American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines and United Airlines will continue their YVRA service next winter. Delta acquired Northwest Airlines in 2008.
