Steamboat’s 2010 Annual Yampa River Festival and Paddling Life Invitational

This coming weekend May 29-31, 2010 celebrate the Yampa River Festival in conjunction with the Paddling Life Pro Invitational.

“The (yampa festival) event shows locals and visitors all the recreational possibilities of the river; it also brings awareness to outside factors that can affect the water,” Van De Carr, Festival’s Producer said.

The Yampa River Festival, May 29-30, includes a freestyle rodeo and a tube rodeo (that's right, tricks in a tube) at Charlie's Hole in downtown Steamboat Springs, a Slalom at Rich Weiss Park, the Crazy River Dog competition and a downriver raft race with parties Saturday and Sunday night.

On Monday May 31st the Paddling Life Invitational will take place which is a one-day kayaking event in Steamboat Springs, CO that brings some of the world's top kayakers against one another in a one-day, two-event competition for a cash purse and year-long bragging rights.

See the best men and women compete head-to-head in a downriver race on the middle section of Fish Creek, followed by a freestyle event in the C-Hole in downtown Steamboat Springs. This is followed by an Après Paddle and Awards Party sponsored by New Belgium Brewery at Sun Pies Bistro between 7th and 8th on Yampa Ave (waterside to the Yampa River).

Get to Steamboat this weekend and get great last minute lodging deals for the Memorial Day weekend, while spending time next to the gorgeous banks of the Yampa River.
