Activities and Events in Steamboat Springs, CO Week March 12-19th:

The weather in Steamboat has been gorgeous and the skiing is staying soft with lots of little snow showers. Town is busy as well with many activities and a lot of them being free or on the cheap!

Friday March 12, 2010:
  • Spring Break Friday Night Madness: Amante Coffee, 8 p.m. Free
    DJ Tony will spin dance, hip-hop, reggae and ’80s music during this party, which offers drink specials and is for ages 21 and up. 685 Marketplace Plaza, Suite 8.
Saturday March 13, 2010:
  • Easy Star All-Stars: Free Concert! Gondola Square, 3 p.m.
    This reggae collective is best known for its dub renditions of classic albums, putting its touch on songs originally recorded by Pink Floyd, Radiohead and The Beatles. Learn more about the group at www.easystar.com. The show is part of the 11th annual Bud Light Rocks the Boat free concert series.
  • The Mother Hips: Ghost Ranch Saloon, 9 p.m. $15 advance/ $20 at door.

  • Outformation: Old Town Pub, 10 p.m. Cover TBA
    Southern rock group Outformation pairs an ability to go on jam riffs with an ability to write songs rooted in the country rock tradition. 600 Lincoln Ave.
Monday March 15, 2010:
  • Acoustic Open Mic Night: The Boathouse Pub, 7 p.m. FREE.
    Local musicians Paul Geppert and Jay Roemer host an open mic night for acoustic music setups. Sign-up starts at 7 p.m. 609 Yampa St.

Wednesday March 17, 2010
  • St. Patty’s Day Torchlight Parade and Fireworks: Steamboat Ski Area, 7:30 p.m. FREE Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a torchlight parade and fireworks display. Viewing is free and is recommended from Gondola Square.

Thursday March 18, 2010:
  • Karaoke: The Tap House Sports Grill, 10 p.m. FREE
    Show off your voice at The Tap House! They host karaoke every Thurs. 729 Lincoln Ave.

Friday March 19, 2010:
  • The Luv Brothers: Old Town Pub, 10pm Cover TBA
    The Luv Brothers are a bluegrass and Americana band with a healthy sense of humor from Summit County.
