New Year’s Eve in Steamboat Springs: Fireworks, Music & More

Steamboat will be bringing in the New Year with Ski Town USA style and a little Western grace. Head up to the Gondola Square to watch the Sprint Torchlight Parade and Firework display. The Steamboat Ski & Snowboard school hosts this event with a spectacular on-snow parade down the mountain! The only light guiding them down the run is the torches and maybe some light from the moon! After the torchlight parade a fireworks display will light up the Steamboat Ski Resort to bring in the New Year! This event is free and open to the public and the best viewing is in Gondola Square. The parade begins at 7:00pm.

In downtown Steamboat, head to the Ghost Ranch Saloon at 9:00 pm, to see Missed the Boat, a home town Steamboat band, who recently recorded their debut album “Rollin”, that was also nominated for the 2010 Grammy's in 4 categories! Missed the Boat plays through out Colorado with their unique Americana-Rock sound and is taking the Colorado and National music scene by surprise.

Also head over to Mahogany Ridge for a different sound from Peace Officer- show starts at 10:00 p.m. Peace Officer is a live-band hip hop crew from Fort Collins, Colorado, playing their own brand of socially conscious dub-oriented music.

And last but not least head to the Old Town Pub to hear James and the Devil - show starts at 10:00 pm. James and the Devil has an original style with spin-offs of Rock'n'Roll sounds with MountainGrass, funk, hip hop, and rhythmic dance chemistry that makes you want to move!

Come to Steamboat for the New Year and receive great lodging deals with ResortQuest Steamboat that will make 2010 begin a little sweeter!
