  • DJ Harry — Ghost Ranch Saloon, 9 p.m. Free event.
    Join longtime electronic DJ Harry for the launch party for a new website, www.steamboattonight.com. Harry has played on stages such as Bonnaroo, sharing the bill with artists including Moby, Spearhead and Widespread Panic.  56 Seventh St.
Saturday Dec. 18, 2010 
  • Ski Season’s Greetings — Ski Time Square, 3 to 5 p.m.
    Activities include holiday caroling, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, live reindeer, cowboys and horses, photos, free refreshments, tree decorating, a torchlight parade and the lighting of the Mountain Village tree. Donations of household items for LIFT-UP of Routt County are accepted. Children are encouraged to bring an ornament to hang on the tree. Steamboat Ski Area base.
     
  • Something Underground — The Tugboat Grill & Pub, 9:30 p.m. $5 at the door
    Seth and Josh Larson and Trevor Mari­otti, of Denver power trio Something Underground, don’t let genre titles define the music they make. Soul, pop, rock, funk, blues and songs about zombies are up for grabs. Tickets are $5 at the door. 1860 Ski Time Square Drive.

  • The Home Ranch Cookbook signing — The Homesteader, 3 to 6 p.m.

  • RED Contemporary gallery opening — noon to 4:30 p.m.
    The gallery in the Sheraton Steamboat Resort opens for the winter season with sculptures by Steamboat resident John Robert Mingo, Ridgeway resident Pokey Park and several painters new to the gallery. 2200 Village Inn Court.
     
  • Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul — Strings Music Pavilion, 7 p.m.
    Enjoy a special Strings Music Festival off-season performance with fiddler Eileen Ivers. A Grammy Award-winning musician and star of Riverdance, she delivers a mix of traditional and original Irish airs, jigs, reels, grooves, songs and stories.   • Strings holiday family concert with Peter Davison — Strings Music Pavilion, 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Award-winning artist Peter Davison returns to the Strings Music Pavilion with the premiere of his new winter holiday show. This mix of zany antics, virtuoso juggling, dance and audience participation is a sure hit for all ages. With a special guest appearance by the Sugar Plum Fairy.   • Todd Musselman — Sweetwater Grill, 6 p.m.

  •  Rock on Ice — Howelsen Ice Arena, 7 to 9 p.m.
    Rock on Ice is an ice-skating event geared toward teens but open to everyone. Skate under disco lights to music from 7 to 9 p.m. The $6 cost includes skate rentals. 285 Howelsen Parkway.
