Calling All Romantics! Top Romantic Activities in Steamboat

(Blog Post by Cindy-ResortQuest Concierge!) There’s no time like the present and what better time to plan a weekend getaway with that special someone than right now while the Fall colors are still abound, a relaxed pace prevails, and lodging and dining deals hard to resist! So grab your loved one and get yourself up to the ‘Boat!

Here are my picks for the perfect romantic day in Steamboat:

Grab a cup of coffee or chai from Amante Coffee in the Wildhorse Plaza and stroll on down to the Yampa River Core Trail as it meanders along the Yampa. From there head over to the Botanic Gardens and saunter along the paths taking in the fall blooms, tranquil pond, bronze sculptures, and the new solar powered Trillium House-a perfect spot to plan a wedding or anniversary gathering!

Next stop, Backcountry Provisions in downtown Steamboat for gourmet order and go sandwiches before heading up to the Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Located a few miles out of town alongside Hot Springs Creek, these breathtakingly beautiful natural hot springs will warm you body and soul. Several terraced pools surrounded by natural stone masonry invite you to soak your cares away while the backdrop of blue sky, towering aspens, and quaint hobbit-like massage cabins transport you and your loved one to a state well-being and bliss. (Food isnt allowed by the pools but there are great little sitting areas around the springs complex that will lend themselves for the perfect post soak picnic.)

Ahhhhh, what’s next you ask? A perfect ending to a perfect day has you and your guy or gal dining at Bistro C.V., one of Steamboat’s newest gourmet dining venues located on Third and Lincoln downtown. Chef owners Kevin Caparrelli and Brian Vaughn sum up their culinary philosophy, “Our food is a reflection of our belief in cooking simply, honestly and innovatively.” With that being said, each dish is hand crafted and artfully prepared and presented by waiters exuding just the right personal touch. The potato-white truffle gnocchi with oyster mushrooms, artichokes, asparagus and white cheddar béchamel was almost too beautiful to eat! Complimented by an ’08 Italian Pinot Grigio from Scarpetta Vineyards in Fruili-Venezia Guilia, this dish was as delectable and savory as it was beautiful.

Romance in Steamboat? You bet! Come see for yourself! Take advantage of our fall specials and save up to 40% on ResortQuest lodging if you book before 10/31/10.
